MINI WRITER’S RETREAT. Aug 10,11,12,13 — four nights, four days, a writing retreat at the Buddhist retreat centre, Namgyalgar, in the heart of Queensland’s spectacular Glass House Mountains. The thirteen volcanic peaks that rise dramatically from the Beerburrum plain have cultural significance for traditional owners, the Gubbi Gubbi people. Three of the most spectacular can be seen from Namgyalgar.
Morning workshops, afternoons free to write, pre-dinner readings, will give you the opportunity for total focus on your writing project. Using meditative and mindful writing techniques, learn how to gain one pointed focus, overcome blocks and troubleshoot problem areas in your work. In between sessions, take time out for inspiring strolls on the land or walk 20 mins to the look out for stunning views of the entire Glass House range. Have lunch on the way back at the Lookout Cafe. Visit the lily pond, commune with the pretty faced wallabies, take a dip in the pool or simply meditate in the beautiful surroundings.
Four nights, four days, limited residential places. Non-residential places also available (attend for days only).
Our venue, Namgyalgar Retreat Centre, is one of several international centres or gars set up by the Tibetan Buddhist master, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. (In Tibetan gar means place where nomads gather to receive to teachings)
